About Carl

Carl is a Partner at Arthur D. Little, based out of our London and New York offices, and co-leads for our Digital Problem Solving practice.

Carl helps companies address significant threats or seize new opportunities at pace. The resulting technology, operating and business model innovations are embedded into our clients’ core operations, or new ventures are established where separation from the core is needed. We call this “Intractable Problem Solving”.

The Digital Problem Solving team is cross-industry, solution-agnostic and polymathic by design. Working with some super client teams, over the past three years, he has helped address 30 major challenges and opportunities across 11 industries, ranging from full business model innovation through to point digital and operating model transformations.

Carl is a Fellow of the British Computer Society and prior Chair of the BCS Futures Group. He has also written a number of Next Practice techniques for "rigorous creativity" in problem solving, biasing teams toward what could work better now, even in currently successful companies.  He loves working with people who like to leave no stone unturned to address the driving question even when this challenges our prior worldviews. “Who says it can’t be done?”
